Gold Price in Pakistan Surges Towards Rs. 250,000 Per Tola Mark After Another Increase

The price of gold in Pakistan posted its third straight increase this week on Friday to close in on the Rs. 250,000 per tola mark. According to data issued by the Karachi Sarafa Association, the price of gold (24 carats) rose by Rs. 2,200 per tola to Rs. 249,000, while the price of 10 grams increased by Rs. 1,886 to Rs. 213,477. The Sarafa Association said that the price of gold has been kept under cost by Rs. 2,800 due to the reduction in purchasing power of the buyers, an increase of Rs. 300 over yesterday’s discount. After falling on the first two days of the week, the price of gold rebounded with gains of Rs. 600 per tola on Wednesday and another Rs. 1,200 per tola on Thursday. Today’s increase takes the three-day rally to Rs. 4,000 per tola.
