Gold prices in Pakistan rose on Wednesday in line with gains in the international market, while silver climbed to a fresh record high.
In the local market, the price of gold per tola increased by Rs. 2,700 during the day to settle at Rs. 453,562. The rate for 10-gram gold also went up, rising by Rs. 2,315 to Rs. 388,856, according to figures shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
A day earlier, on Tuesday, the price of gold per tola had closed at Rs. 450,862 after a decline of Rs. 4,000 during the session.
In the international market, the price of gold was up by $27, reaching $4,312 per ounce (including a premium of $20).
Meanwhile, silver extended its rally, with the price per tola jumping by Rs. 290 to hit Rs. 6,822, a new all-time high in the local market.
