Gold prices in Pakistan surged to a record high on Thursday, following a fresh rally in global bullion rates.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold per tola increased by Rs. 1,900 during the day, reaching Rs. 442,800 in the local market.
The price of 10-gram gold also increased, settling at Rs. 379,629 after gaining Rs. 1,629.
This rise follows a significant drop on Wednesday, when gold per tola fell by Rs. 4,578 to close at Rs. 420,600.
Internationally, gold prices also moved higher. The global rate reached $4,217 per ounce (including a $20 premium), up by $19, according to APGJSA.
Meanwhile, silver prices remained unchanged, with the price per tola steady at Rs. 5,337.
