The federal government, on the request of the Fruit and Vegetables Exporter Association, has allowed the export of Kinnow from November 15, 2023.
According to a Ministry of Commerce circular, the committee constituted for the export of Kinnow has decided that the export of Kinnow will be allowed from November 15.
Whereas other conditions for exports will remain as per export policy 2022, the circular added.
Fruit and Vegetables Exporter Association Senior Vice Chairman Shoaib Basra said that we are expecting a bumper crop (2.7 million tons) this year compared to 1.3 million tons last year.
He said that we are hoping that Pakistan will export 30 percent more this year if exporters get favorable conditions such as the opening of borders.
It is pertinent to note that Pakistan exports Kinnow to Russia, Central Asian states, and the Philippines every year. Basra said that we will send our consignments to these countries before the New Year, especially on Christmas.
