Govt Gives Relief in Petrol Price After Nearly Rs. 20 Per Liter Increase
The federal government has announced the new prices of petroleum products in the country for the next fortnight. According to a notification issued by the Finance Division, the price of petrol has been decreased by Rs. 7.54 per liter to Rs. 264.61 while the price of high-speed diesel has been jacked up by Rs. 1.48 per liter to Rs. 285.83 per liter. At the last review of petroleum prices, the price of petrol was increased by Rs. 5.36 per liter to Rs. 272.15, while the price of high-speed diesel was jacked up by Rs. 11.37 per liter to Rs. 284.35 per liter. The price of petrol and diesel was Rs. 253.63 and Rs. 254.64 per liter, respectively, on June 1, but has risen multiple times since then. This means that the price of petrol went up by Rs. 18.52 per liter between June 1 and July 15.
