Govt Hikes Petrol and Diesel Prices
The Government of Pakistan has announced an increase in the prices of petroleum products for the first half of October 2025, following recommendations from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and relevant ministries. According to a press release issued by the Finance Division on September 30, the new prices will take effect from October 1, 2025. The price of High Speed Diesel (HSD) has been raised by Rs. 4.04 per litre, bringing it to Rs. 276.81 per litre, up from the previous Rs. 272.77. Similarly, the price of MS (petrol) has been increased by Rs. 4.07 per litre, now set at Rs. 268.68 per litre compared to the earlier rate of Rs. 264.61. The revised prices will remain in effect for the next fortnight, as the government continues to adjust fuel rates in line with global market trends and domestic considerations.
