The federal government is now planning to raise the salaries of members of the Federal Cabinet, just over a week after the National Assembly passed an amendment bill to raise the basic salaries and allowances of MNAs and Senators.
Sources told ProPakistani that the government plans to bring payouts of its federal ministers in line with those of federal secretaries.
A summary proposing the revision will soon be presented to the cabinet for approval.
Currently, a federal minister’s basic salary stands at Rs. 200,000. The Cabinet Division is finalizing the proposal which will likely be enough to approve the higher salary adjustment.
It bears mentioning that in December 2024, the Punjab Assembly passed a bill to give huge raises to its members, ministers, and parliamentary officials.
