The Prime Minister’s Office has directed all federal ministries, provincial governments, and regulators to ensure that every retail outlet in the country displays a Raast QR code by August 31, 2025.
In a formal communication, Prime Minister’s Advisor Syed Tauqeer Ali Shah instructed key administrative stakeholders to fully enforce the State Bank of Pakistan’s national digital payment strategy.
To ensure compliance, the Prime Minister’s Office has asked all ministries and regulators to make QR code deployment a precondition for the issuance and renewal of business licenses.
Departments have also been told to establish enforcement mechanisms. Regulatory bodies are expected to coordinate with banks, mobile money operators, and other SBP-regulated institutions to facilitate onboarding.
All ministries have been advised to work closely with her office and the State Bank to ensure operational readiness and reporting.
