Govt Slashes RLNG Prices By 14% for May 2025

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), in accordance with the Policy Guidelines of the Federal Government, has determined the Re- gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) prices for the next fortnight, with a roughly 14 percent decrease in rates at the transmission stage. According to the OGRA, the RLNG prices for Sui Northern Pipeline Limited surged to $11.026 per mmbtu in May 2025 as compared to $12.59 per mmbtu recorded in April for transmission, showing a 12.42 percent decrease in values. It has also decreased to $11.79 per mmbtu for sales at the distribution stage, depicting a 12.51 percent decrease in prices. The RLNG prices for Sui Southern Gas Limited declined to $9.74 per mmbtu in May from $11.27 per mmbtu recorded in April for transmission, showing a 13.6 percent cut in prices. RLNG prices also went down to $10.8 per mmbtu as compared to $12.6 per mmbtu in April 2025, depicting over 13.6 percent drop in prices at the distribution stage.
