Videos and pictures are currently going viral on various social media platforms in which a new Rs. 1,000 currency note is being shown with the claim that it has been issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
On the other hand, a user on social media has claimed that he designed this note in 2024. The “new” currency note has been viewed over 10 million times in Pakistan in the past 24 hours as people are actively sharing it on TikTok and other platforms.
However, SBP has said that the currency note shown in the viral video circulating on social media is completely fake.
According to the State Bank, if a new currency note were to be issued, it would be officially announced, information would be provided on the official website and social media channels, and the public would be informed through the media. Therefore, the public should avoid being misled by such content.
