Here’s How Much House Building Advance Govt Employees Can Get Under New Rules
The Ministry of Finance has clarified that federal government employees remain eligible for house building advances under the newly introduced Federal Government Receipts and Payments Rules 2025. According to the ministry, officers will receive an advance equal to 24 months of their basic salary, while staff members can obtain up to 36 months’ salary. An official memorandum issued by the Finance Ministry explained that employees from Grades 1 to 16 are categorized as “staff,” whereas those in Grades 17 and above fall under the “officers” category. The ministry emphasized that all payments for house building advances will follow the provisions outlined in the Federal Government Receipts and Payments Rules 2025. These new rules aim to simplify and standardize the procedure for disbursing advances to government employees. Under the updated regulations, staff members are eligible for an advance equivalent to three years of their basic pay, while officers can receive up to two years of their salary for house construction.
