The Sindh government has taken a significant step to protect low-income citizens from expensive electricity.
The provincial government has announced that consumers who use less than 100 electricity units per month will be provided with free solar systems.
Under this initiative, 130,000 families will receive solar systems. The aim is to provide relief to the underprivileged and promote alternative sources of energy.
Only those consumers will be eligible whose electricity usage has been less than 100 units per month for the past six months.
The applicant must not have previously received a solar system under any other government scheme.
Interested individuals must fill out the application form along with their electricity bill and national identity card. It is mandatory to have the form verified by their Union Council (UC) Chairman or a gazetted officer.
The completed application form must be submitted to the office of the Sindh Energy Department, Project of Home Solar System (On-Grid). The last date for submitting applications is August 20, 2025.
