Mondelez Pakistan Limited has taken another major step in its sustainability journey with the launch of a large-scale solar energy project that will add approximately 2.2 MW of clean power to its operations.
The initiative reflects the company’s long-term commitment to minimizing its carbon footprint and advancing renewable energy adoption in Pakistan’s manufacturing sector.
The new solar project includes an addition of 1.6 MW to its existing 0.6 MW installation at the Mondelez manufacturing plants at Hub, Balochistan. It has been implemented in collaboration with Shams Power and will enable Mondelez Pakistan to meet a significant portion of its energy requirements through renewable sources thus reducing greenhouse gas emissions and driving operational efficiency.
Speaking at the occasion, Taimoor Vohra – MSC Lead, Mondelez Pakistan, said, “Environmental stewardship is a key part of how we do business. Investing in clean energy allows us to reduce our environmental impact while ensuring long-term efficiency and resilience. This solar project reflects our vision of contributing to a greener Pakistan and setting an example for responsible corporate growth.”
A spokesperson from Shams Power added, “We are pleased to support Mondelez Pakistan in realizing its clean energy goals. Collaborations like these highlight the role of forward-looking companies in driving Pakistan’s renewable energy transition.”
This solar investment is part of Mondelez Pakistan’s broader sustainability agenda, aligned with the company’s global goals to reduce emissions, invest in renewable energy, and build a more sustainable and responsible supply chain.
