Nishat Mills to Expand Across Energy, Agribusiness, Solar, Yarn
Nishat Mills Limited (NML) has announced expansions across energy, textile and agribusiness, including plans to add 4MW of solar power, increase yarn capacity and invest up to Rs. 5 billion in Nishat Sutas Dairy Limited. The updates were shared during a corporate briefing attended by Topline Securities. NML is preparing to install another 4MW alongside a 45TP steam boiler and battery-storage systems. The company will also expand open-end yarn production by adding 3,000 rotors. A new workwear garments unit is under construction, scheduled for commissioning in FY25, with a pilot project already running. On the agribusiness front, NML has approved up to Rs. 5 billion for Nishat Sutas Dairy Limited, of which Rs. 3.9 billion has been invested as of June 2025. NML expects the current fiscal year to be “slightly challenging” but said diversification into denim and technical textiles should help protect margins. The company also plans to deepen its footprint in European and non-traditional destinations. Established in 1951, NML is one of Pakistan’s largest vertically integrated textile groups, involved in spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing, stitching and power generation.
