Pakistan Ranks Among Top 20 Most Generous Nations According to World Giving Report 2025

Pakistan ranks 17th out of 101 countries in overall generosity, according to the World Giving Report (WGR) 2025. The Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP) shared the findings of the report on Wednesday, released in collaboration with the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), UK. The World Giving Report (WGR) 2025 ranks countries based on three key indicators of generosity: helping a stranger, donating money, and volunteering time. Pakistan has shown noteworthy performance across all three, with remarkable progress in individual donations, where it ranks 17th in terms of proportion of income donated in the global context. “This is a moment of celebration for Pakistan reflecting a strong culture of compassion and collective responsibility,” said Shazia Maqsood Amjad, Executive Director of PCP. “Despite economic challenges, Pakistanis continue to give generously, not just through financial donations, but also by volunteering time and offering help to those in need.” The findings highlight Pakistan’s long-standing tradition of community support, Zakat, and informal giving mechanisms, forming an integral social safety net for millions across the country. PCP’s own research complements these global findings, illustrating the vast scope of philanthropic engagement across diverse sectors, including health, education, disaster response, and poverty alleviation. The World Giving Report 2025 also underscores a global trend: people are continuing to give even in times of economic uncertainty.
