The Pakistani rupee continued its positive momentum against the US dollar, appreciating by 0.01% in the inter-bank market on Tuesday. At the close of trading, the rupee settled at Rs. 281.72, gaining Rs. 0.03 against the greenback.
This marks the rupee’s 18th consecutive gain against the dollar.
Since August 6, 2025, the rupee has strengthened by a total of Rs. 0.95 against the US dollar. On Monday, the local currency had closed at Rs. 281.75.
In the open market, the buying and selling rates of the dollar stood at Rs. 282.6 and Rs. 283.4, respectively, according to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP).
The Euro saw a significant decline, dropping by Rs. 2.89 to close at Rs. 328.03 compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs. 330.21, as per the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The Japanese yen also weakened slightly, falling by 02 paisa to close at Rs. 1.89. Meanwhile, the British pound experienced a notable drop of Rs. 4, trading at Rs. 377.16 compared to the previous day’s rate of Rs. 381.16.
The exchange rate of the Emirates Dirham remained stable at Rs. 76.70, while the Saudi Riyal saw a minor decrease of 01 paisa, closing at Rs. 75.07.
