Petroleum Sales in Pakistan Up 4% in 7 Months of FY25
Pakistan recorded OMC sales of 1.38 million tons in January 2025, the same as last year. During 7MFY25, total sales of petroleum products increased by 4 percent YoY to 9.41 million tons vis-à-vis 9.07 million tons in SPLY. The offtake of MS petrol increased by 1 percent YoY in January 2025, settling at 0.62 million tons. EX-FO sales were down 68 percent YoY to 0.06 million tons in January 2025; 7MFY25 EX-FO sales clocked in at 0.41 million tons, down 46 percent YoY. On an MoM basis, petroleum sales increased by 8 percent during January 2025. The sales of MS showed 10 percent MoM increase. Likewise, the dispatches of EX-FO increased by 40 percent MoM in January 2025. Meanwhile, HSD offtake increased by 5 percent MoM. The sales of PSO were down 10 percent YoY basis at 0.59 million tons in January 2025. PSO’s offtake of MS witnessed a decline of 11 percent, while FO dispatches declined by 88 percent YoY. The dispatches of SHEL climbed up by 4 percent YoY during January 2025. The offtake of APL declined by 14 percent but skyrocketed by 120 percent YoY for HASCOL during the period in review. During 7MFY25, petroleum sales of APL and PSO plummeted by 11 percent and 5 percent YoY. Meanwhile, sales for SHEL and HASCOL increased by 6 percent and 31 percent YoY, respectively.
