Pakistan recorded OMC sales of 1.13 million tons in February 2025, almost the same as last year. During 8MFY25, total sales of petroleum products increased by 4 percent YoY to 10.54 million tons vis-à-vis 10.18 million tons in SPLY.
According to Topline Securities, PSO’s market share dropped to 41 percent in February 2025, its lowest level in 58 months.
The offtake of MS petrol increased by 2 percent YoY in February 2025, settling at 0.556 million tons. FO sales were up 7 percent YoY to 0.053 million tons in February 2025 but down 42 percent in 8MFY25.
On a MoM basis, petroleum sales decreased by 18 percent during February 2025. The sales of MS showed an 11 percent MoM decrease.
The dispatches of FO decreased by 9 percent MoM in February 2025. Meanwhile, HSD off-take decreased by 29 percent MoM.
The sales of PSO were down 17 percent YoY basis at 0.47 million tons in February 2025. PSO’s off-take of MS witnessed a decline of 13 percent, while FO dispatches declined by 79 percent YoY.
The dispatches of SHEL decreased by 6 percent YoY during February 2025.
The offtake of APL declined by 10 percent but spiked by 59 percent YoY for HASCOL during the period in review.
During 8MFY25, petroleum sales of APL and PSO plummeted by 11 percent and 6 percent YoY. Meanwhile, sales for SHEL and HASCOL increased by 4 percent and 34 percent YoY, respectively.
