PM Earns Less Than Half of Monthly Salaries of MNAs, Other Officials
Despite holding the highest constitutional office in Pakistan, the Prime Minister’s salary is significantly lower than that of Members of Parliament (MPs) and other top officials, according to the Cabinet Division. The Prime Minister’s monthly salary is approximately Rs. 200,000, including allowances, less than half the Rs. 519,000 monthly pay of MPs. The Speaker of the National Assembly and the Chairman of the Senate each receive Rs. 1.3 million per month. The Cabinet Division presented these details in the Senate, revealing that the PM’s basic salary stands at Rs. 107,280, with the total reaching Rs. 200,000 after allowances. Unlike other high officeholders, the Prime Minister is not entitled to post-retirement benefits such as lifelong security, tax exemptions, or a pension.
