Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to expedite the resolution of pending revenue cases in courts and warned that no delays will be tolerated.
He said this during a review meeting of the Inland Revenue Appellate Tribunals held in Islamabad today.
The Prime Minister directed all authorities to appoint internationally competitive and professional individuals to these tribunals. He instructed officials to offer attractive salaries and benefits to recruit and retain skilled manpower essential for resolving revenue disputes on time.
The premier also mentioned the successful launch of a faceless assessment system in Karachi. The automated system has significantly reduced the time required for customs clearance and eradicated corruption in the process, the prime minister added.
The meeting also discussed the broader scope of FBR reforms. Shehbaz vowed to protect public funds, ensure equitable tax collection, and refrain from imposing additional burdens on low-income citizens.
