Remittances by overseas Pakistanis increased by 55 percent year-on-year (YoY) to $3.1 billion during February 2025 compared to $2.3 billion during February 2024, according to latest data by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
On a month-on-month (MoM) basis, remittances were up by 4 percent compared to inflows of 3.0 billion reported in January 2025.
A breakdown of the numbers shows that the highest inflows were registered from Saudi Arabia, coming in at $744 million, followed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at $652 million, the United Kingdom (UK) at $501 million, European Union (EU) countries at $340 million, and the United States (US) at $309 million.
In 8MFY25, remittances increased by 32 percent YoY to $24 billion compared to inflows of $18.3 billion reported in 8MFY24.
