Rs. 42.7 Billion Allocated for Green Line BRT Project Karachi

The Federal Government has allocated a combined total of Rs. 42.7 billion for the Green Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system in Karachi under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2025-26. According to official documents, the allocations are divided between two major components of the project: The Green Line BRT is a key component of Karachi’s mass transit strategy and provides a reliable, efficient, and affordable public transport solution for the city’s growing population. Once fully operational and integrated with other transport lines, the BRT is expected to significantly reduce travel times, ease traffic congestion, and lower carbon emissions.
