Saudi Arabia Unveils Gulf’s First Multi-Storey Factory

The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) has announced the launch of its groundbreaking “Multi-Storey Factory” project in the First Industrial City of Dammam, according to a statement released by the Pakistani embassy in Saudi Arabia. The initiative, the first of its kind in the Arabian Gulf, underscores Saudi Arabia’s growing leadership in the industrial sector. The project forms part of MODON’s strategy to deliver innovative solutions that improve the investment climate and promote industrial growth in the Kingdom. Spanning more than 7,500 square meters, the factory building comprises eight floors and 78 industrial units, each ranging from 156 to 251 square meters. It is designed to meet the evolving needs of entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The concept provides fully serviced, ready-made spaces that significantly cut the time required to begin operations, helping accelerate business development. MODON said the development represents a model for sustainable vertical industrial expansion, maximizing land use while offering flexible options for investors. The project also supports SME growth, a major driver of economic development and job creation, with targeted sectors including electronics, 3D printing, food, medical, and pharmaceuticals. MODON highlighted that such projects strengthen Saudi Arabia’s role as a global industrial hub, leveraging its advanced infrastructure and strategic location to attract high-quality international investment. Currently, MODON oversees 39 industrial cities across the Kingdom, home to more than 9,000 industrial, logistics, and investment facilities with investments exceeding SAR 463 billion. The developed area spans over 220 million square meters. MODON also licenses and manages privately developed industrial cities and complexes while developing their infrastructure.
