SBP to Announce FY25’s 2nd Last Monetary Policy Next Week

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will announce on Monday its monetary policy decision, the central bank announced in a circular on Wednesday. “The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of SBP will meet on Monday, May 05, 2025 to decide on the Monetary Policy. Later on, SBP will issue the Monetary Policy Statement through a press release on the same day,” it said in the statement. The MPC session on June 16 will be this fiscal year’s final meeting, as per the bank’s updated calendar. SBP kept the key interest rate unchanged at 12 percent at its previous MPC session on March 10. Before this, it had cut the rate six consecutive times.
