Sindh Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has announced solar panel distribution for 200,000 eligible households will be completed by July 31, 2025, with assistance from the World Bank.
During a meeting to assess the progress of the initiative, Shah emphasized speeding up the process in line with Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and the Sindh Chief Minister’s orders.
Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani was also present at the meeting.
Officials were instructed to distribute 1,600 solar home systems across all districts each month, with a weekly target of 400 per district. Shah further directed that the 50,000 solar panels currently in storage be distributed within 30 days, with a progress report submitted to him.
He also mentioned that special ceremonies would be organized in collaboration with local administrations to mark the distribution process.
