Thatta Cement Acquires 26% Additional Stake in its Power Subsidiary

Thatta Cement Company Limited (PSX: THCCL) has acquired a 26 percent additional stake in Thatta Power (Private) Limited, the company informed the main bourse on Tuesday. “The company has successfully acquired 12,500,000 shares of Thatta Power (Pvt) Ltd, representing 26.09 percent ownership stake in the company,” it said in a stock filing. As a result, the total shareholding of Thatta Cement Company Limited in Thatta Power (Pvt) Ltd has increased to 88.52 percent, the filing added. Thatta Power (Private) Limited is a private limited company and is a subsidiary of Thatta Cement Company Limited, a public limited company listed at PSX. THCCL’s main business activity is manufacturing and marketing of cement.
