Pakistan has imposed a ban on transit trade with India. The Ministry of Commerce has issued a Statutory Regulatory Order (SRO) prohibiting the import, export, and transit of Indian goods through transit trade.
As per the SRO, the transit trade of Indian goods via sea, land, and air routes is now prohibited.
The order also restricts the shipment of Indian goods by third countries through Pakistan via sea, land, and air.
Furthermore, the SRO also bans the export of Pakistani goods to India through transit trade via sea, land, and air routes.
The Ministry of Commerce clarified that the ban will not apply to imports and exports for which Letters of Credit (LCs) have already been issued.
